Samsung estimated Q3 operating profit at ₩107.4 trillion ($80.28B), the first time a Korean company has topped ₩100 trillion in a quarter.
That is up 782.5% year on year. Revenue of ₩195 trillion missed the ₩200.64 trillion forecast. Analysts estimate memory alone made about ₩110 trillion. The operating margin reached 55.1%, and full results are due later this month.
This is Samsung’s fourth record quarter in a row, beating the ₩89 trillion it made in Q2. Q3 profit alone is more than double the company’s full-year 2025 total of ₩43.6 trillion, and with ₩254.1 trillion earned over the first nine months, some expect a full year near ₩350 trillion.
For scale, it tops Nvidia’s Q2 operating profit of $63.7 billion.
The boom is lopsided, though: chips are carrying the business, while consumer electronics, including phones, appliances and TVs, are estimated to have lost money in the quarter.
