Jio raised the money from 212 anchor investors, including LIC and Capital Group, ahead of its ₹30,188-crore IPO opening on October 21.
Institutional demand topped ₹2.5 lakh crore, reportedly the first time an Indian IPO has crossed that mark. Anchors included Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, the Government of Singapore, Qatar Investment Authority and Norges Bank.
Jio is selling about 2.9% of the company and will use up to ₹27,500 crore, roughly 91% of the issue, to repay loans at Reliance Jio Infocomm.
